Where do ancient cities spawn?
Ancient cities generate deep underground in the deep dark biome, at Y -51. You can often find them under mountains and other areas with low erosion. They are guarded by sculk shriekers that can summon the warden.

How to find ancient cities without a seed map
- Search under mountains: the deep dark, and with it ancient cities, often lies below them.
- Dig or cave down to about Y -51 and look for sculk, reinforced deepslate and soul lanterns.
- Use the ancient city finder with your seed to get the X and Z, then dig straight down to Y -51.
- Sneak and avoid sculk shriekers once you arrive, so you do not summon the warden.
